DUD CHEQUE ...... My Story

Image
Yeboah Benjamin writes  As a business student, I know of Dud cheque but the first time I have a taste of it, I nearly went mad. Infact the taste is more than painful and bitter. Words can't describe the feelings. As a young graduate actively seeking for Job, I first opt to go for a sales representative of an insurance company (name withheld) while I continue my search just to sustain me for the moment. Working for this company for six months, no commission receive yet, though I have register more than 800 clients within that period. I started complaining and decided to quit this job after I have get this my commission. Working for this company for more than a year, I was supposed to received a little above Ghc2500 as I have register more than 1500 clients. Great news came my way one afternoon, the manager called telling me to passby for my commission. That moment the feeling was awesome. I stayed at Abuakwa and this company is at Adum, imagin

WORTH THE WAIT…….

To say patience is a virtue is an understatement. It’s really more of a skill, one that can be learned and needs constant nurturing. When you look at what it means to have patience, you’re ultimately talking about dealing with your own thoughts and emotions. As a spiritual being, there is an unbounded, limitless presence within you that is constantly seeking expression. As a time-bound, physical being, you have limitations for expressing this inner knowledge—constantly seeking instant gratification and spontaneous movement that doesn’t exist in the physical realm. You think, act, and experience, and this should be the simplicity of life. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Problems arise when you think and it doesn’t seem to produce immediate results. But the most important thing to focus on is the word “seem.” The wisdom handed down through the ages supports the idea that every heartfelt intention and desire is met with support. Remember that patience is the abili

NPP YOUTH SECRETARY IN ASUNAFO SOUTH FIRES BACK AT EXECUTIVE MEMBER TAKING MONEY TO PROVIDE JOB FOR PARTY FAITHFULS

Image
MY TAKE BY SAKYI EMMANUEL (Crusaders of NPP - Secretary) When did politics started becoming a dangerous and a wicked game in my noble political party (NPP)? My attention has been drawn to an illegal taking of money from young and needy crusaders who worked hard for our party to gain power before an appointment letter is given to them. I was shocked when I heard that the constituency secretary and his supporters are thise involved in this dubious act. I asked myself how? I can't fathom because we (crusaders) were promised of Jobs, Jobs and Jobs prior to 2016 elections but not knowing it was just a mere talk to trigger us to sacrifice our lives for the party rather than a genuine or true talk. Now we are experiencing otherwise.  A sum of 200 cedis is to be paid for appointment letter and medicals. 100 cedis for each respectively. My next questions are 1. Are these people medical professionals or agricultural experts? 2. Is this the proper way to appreciate the you

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL WOMEN

Image
Yeboah Benjamin's folder  I dedicate and Celebrate today  the second Sunday of May to all the supermoms around the world. No one can argue with the fact that moms are real-life superheroes. They spend their lives looking after us, taking care of our smallest needs and shielding us from troubles. And mothers do that without ever asking for anything in return. A man may work from dusk to dawn, but a woman's work is never done. Thanks for giving us the best things in life: Your love, your care, and your cooking. Raising kids takes a lot of strength and passion. You're our most cherished  heroines. Not one, all the 365 days of the year should be dedicated to our mothers. Thank you for all the times you put our happiness above yours, for loving us selflessly and being there through everything. Because of mothers, we are us. You are the heart and soul of our families. Happy Mothers Day

You see lots of women gathered at one place doing the cooking. The men will also be gathered at another place chatting heartily. Where huge public address systems are not blurring with music, you are likely to find some young men playing traditional drums such as the “dondo”.  Until recently, I did not know the Muslim marriage rites was called “awuré”. I always called it “amariya”. I have not yet had the privilege to assist in the preparation for this beautiful ceremony. I missed the great opportunity to do so when my cousin was getting married. My maternal grandfather was once a Muslim so some of my family members are Muslims. The Islamic marriage feast, also known as walima, I must say, can be grandeur, especially when the bride is from a wealthy home or is highly educated. The ceremony is ak

DYING WITHOUT A WILL: WHEN RIP MEANS “RETURN IF POSSIBLE!”

EZANEAYA'S NOOK. Written by:  Rebecca Eduafo-Abraham When Mrs. Thompson lost her husband, it was as if her world had come to an end. When she met him 25 years ago, he had just left middle school. She had no formal education at all. Together, they worked hard and invested in his education. He acquired his PhD three years before he died. A hard working trader, Mrs. Thompson made a greater contribution to the assets they owned. However, her husband died without a will and her grief was compounded by her husband’s family’s greed. They insisted on an equal share of the deceased’s property. On the instruction of the family head, the funeral donation was divided into three equal parts – one for Mrs. Thompson and the children of the man, one for the parents of her late husband and the rest went to the other family members. The same proposition was made regarding her late husband’s property. This left Mrs. Thompson devastated because in their most difficult moment, no member o
